MOLINA DE SEGURA

PARAÍSO-FAYREN| MOLINA DE SEGURA, MURCIA, SPAIN | COMPETITION 1st PRIZE 2022 | MARTINO PEÑA, ANTONIO CEREZUELA | MOLINA DE SEGURA CITY COUNCIL | 20.000m²

The configuration of the park area is based on a previous investigation, linked to the immediate past of the surroundings, reaffirming the idea of the Huerta environment where the important Subirana irrigation channel used to run, which generated the current limit between the northern part at a height of 3 m and the new area to be regenerated. It is proposed to link the existing part of the Fayren orchard by demolishing the retaining wall and creating a variable slope planted with riverside vegetation, with the Subirana irrigation channel becoming the point of union between the two public spaces. The bioclimatic strategies used are; Recovery of autochthonous vegetation/C02 fixation/Green mattresses/Riverside forest/Rainwater harvesting/Drip irrigation/Controlled drip irrigation/use of zero-emission transport/Bicycle lane.
